Graphify, a 135K-star repo, maps codebases into queryable knowledge graphs for AI agents
techNmak · x · 2026-10-25
Graphify (135K GitHub stars, YC S26, Apache 2.0, 9.2M PyPI downloads) lets AI coding agents map a codebase once instead of grepping forever.
Typing /graphify in your assistant parses the whole project—functions, classes, files, SQL schemas, infra configs, docs, PDFs, images, videos—into a persistent, queryable knowledge graph. Agents can then ask things like "what connects authentication to the database?" or "trace the path from UserService to DatabasePool" instead of opening a dozen files and losing the trail as context fills up.
Key technical details:
- Code is parsed locally with tree-sitter AST: deterministic, no LLM, nothing leaves your machine (docs/media use a semantic model pass)
- Every edge is tagged EXTRACTED (explicit in source) or INFERRED, so you can tell facts from guesses
- Not a vector index: a real traversable graph supporting path tracing and concept explanation
- Graphify Cloud claims up to 80% reduction in agent token spend
