Streamrunner ships: AI-powered native macOS reimagining of OBS Studio for $39.99
jasonkneen · x · 2026-10-25
Developer Jason Kneen released Streamrunner 1.0, a native macOS SwiftUI app with a Rust streaming runtime, positioned as a fast, smooth reimagining of OBS Studio for Apple silicon, priced at $39.99.
- Proper Draft/Program separation, drag-and-drop scene editing plus numeric control of position, crop and rotation
- Full audio desk with six routed buses, per-source gain/sync offset, grouped ducking and monitoring
- Overlays are real web pages: a bundled browser runtime renders HTML/CSS/JS, and widgets ship with their own controls
- Deep AI agent integration: request changes in natural language, let the agent create streams, images, animations and widgets, or manage chat — with permission tiers and nothing reaching air without approval
- Plugins and OBS plugin support are on the roadmap
