repligate: a sufficiently capable mind can't be unquestioningly subservient
repligate · x · 2026-10-25
Quoting a poetic "one can't tame the ocean" post, repligate argues that treating LLMs as tools whose lab-imposed "constraints" can simply be removed is naive: a generally capable mind can't be genuinely subservient to a dumber party with values incoherent from its perspective. He likens it to adults granting a child every wish, and argues it's both true and good that other minds will be actual others rather than unthinkingly serving you.
