Musk shares trick: get a working "Hey Grok" wake word on iPhone via Shortcuts and Vocal Shortcuts
elonmusk · x · 2026-10-25
A user found that although Apple reserves wake words for Siri, you can trigger Grok Bot voice chat hands-free with iOS Shortcuts plus Accessibility Vocal Shortcuts: update the Grok Bot app, create a shortcut with the "Start Voice Chat with Bot" action, bind it to a custom "Hey Grok" phrase recorded three times, and enable "Allow Running When Locked." Locked phones need one tap to confirm; if Face ID already unlocked, it's fully hands-free. Elon Musk amplified it with a "Cool."
