Dev open-sources 40 structured SKILL.md files to fix coding agent instruction drift
lain4me · reddit · 2026-10-25
Reddit user lain4me shared ai-skill-navigator, an MIT-licensed collection of 40 modular SKILL.md packages built over months to combat instruction drift in coding agents like Cursor and Claude Code — covering automation, gamedev, utilities and creative arts, in English and Korean.
Three structural rules that made instructions stick:
- Forced step separation: never edit code and verify in the same unchecked thought — eliminates 80% of hallucinated completions
- Explicit output contracts: exact return shapes (diff blocks only, strict markdown tables) to kill conversational filler
- 1:1 bilingual parity: strictly mirrored English/Korean instructions so multi-language tokens don't degrade reasoning
Includes a Spec Diff Checker example: never modify source files, output only modified contracts / breaking changes / uncovered edge cases, no implementation code until analysis is confirmed. Author is upfront about limits: static skills reduce hallucination frequency but can't fix hard context limits or fundamental model reasoning failures.
