Open-source fix stops Google Antigravity IDE from resetting its window to 1400x900
Greedy-Permit-2999 · reddit · 2026-10-25
Google Antigravity IDE has an annoying quirk: every relaunch forgets your custom window size and snaps back to the default 1400×900. Since the core IDE is proprietary and upstream PRs aren't possible, developer amiltonjr built a zero-dependency, standard-library-only Python utility to patch geometry persistence.
- Persists exact window dimensions, position, and maximized state
- Multi-monitor safe: clamps coordinates to an active display if an external monitor disconnects, so the window never gets lost off-screen
- Backs up app.asar.orig before modifying anything; --restore returns to stock anytime
- Ships one-liner runner scripts (run.sh, run.bat, run.ps1) for macOS, Windows, and Linux
