Clip Control: a $79 one-time MCP server that clips long recordings with auditable receipts
KindDocument3016 · reddit · 2026-10-25
A solo developer launched Clip Control, a standalone MCP server for Apple Silicon Macs ($79 one-time) that gives your AI assistant a seven-tool workflow for turning long recordings (podcasts, streams, lectures) into publishable clips.
- ccingest registers a recording as a job; cctranscribe runs whisper.cpp on-device (or reuses an existing SRT)
- cccurate ranks publishable moments on-device; ccexport cuts clips, each ffprobe-verified
- cccontentpack outputs structured raw material: moment-transcript joins, pre-rendered timestamps, and prompts for drafting show notes and posts
- The core design bet is auditable receipts: every job ends with a machine-readable receipt, the server is sandboxed to its own job folder, and no upload tool exists — footage physically cannot leave the machine
The author also asks fellow MCP server builders: after a run, what does your server prove — receipts, logs, or vibes?
