Founder: apps should be agents, not apps with agents — the edge is proprietary data plus great UX
xkonjin · x · 2026-10-25
Founder xkonjin argues "apps should be agents, not apps WITH agents": if AI can do anything, why do apps still exist? Because humans struggle to hold multiple abstractions in their heads and need dedicated places for tasks.
His take: frontier lab AIs can't (or shouldn't) generate custom UIs for everything—it would feel weird and be hard to organize. The future edge isn't either/or but a combination of compounding proprietary data and beautiful core user experience: good UI, doing exactly what you need, and a sense of identity among users. "Always has been."
