Two key engineers on Anthropic's Claude Code team have departed: lead engineer Thariq Shihipar, who helped scale the coding tool for over a year, and Anthony Morris, who built the Claude Code desktop app. Both left on positive terms, with Morris joking he now has time for GTA VI. The exits come as Anthropic prepares for an IPO amid ongoing discussion of Opus 5.5 performance.
