AI-written novel suspected at 99% wins €20k Spanish literary prize despite AI ban

David Silva Rojas's novel 'Donde el agua trabaja' won a €20,000 Spanish literary prize out of 2,200 entries, but the Pangram detector flags 99% of its text as AI-generated — while the contest rules explicitly banned AI use.
More evidence: Pangram also attributes 97% of Silva Rojas's answers in a September Ulrica magazine interview, and 80% of another first-person piece on the Ventosa-Arrufat website, to AI — none matching the novel's style. If confirmed, it would be the first case of this scale in Spanish-language literature. The poster questions why organizers didn't screen the 5 finalists with detection tools, since doing so would hardly have been difficult.
