AI agent reads HTTP 402 and autonomously tips $0.01 USDC on Base
lrettig · x · 2026-10-24
A live demo of agentic payments: a developer gave a friend's AI agent a $5 dinner budget, and the agent read the site's HTTP 402 (Payment Required) response, then autonomously tipped $0.01 USDC on Base with no human click. The transaction is verifiable on BaseScan (Success, executed via Multicall). An early real-world use case for open agentic payment protocols like x402-style microtransactions.
