Vibe coding with Opus 5.5: a Kanji learning dojo app with SRS, quizzes and stroke practice
Merzmensch · x · 2026-10-24
Merzmensch shares a vibe-coded side project built with Opus 5.5: "漢字道場" (Kanji Dojo), a Japanese kanji learning tool. Screenshots show a surprisingly complete feature set:
- SRS flashcards covering all 2,136 jōyō kanji, grouped by JLPT level (N5–N2) with Again/Hard/Good/Easy scheduling
- Two-way quizzes (character → meaning and meaning → character)
- Stroke-order practice with hand-drawn input, stroke numbering, demo mode and undo
- Audio for readings, German glosses and example vocabulary
The author says the early version already works very well and that ideas suggested along the way get implemented perfectly; the project will keep evolving.
