Fil-C 0.687 ships critical security fixes contributed by Anthropic
jedisct1 · x · 2026-10-24
Fil-C 0.687 includes critical security fixes courtesy of Anthropic plus a new feature, Peregrine Fil-C, which builds actually portable executables—bringing Fil-C to Mac and Windows.
Fixes contributed by Anthropic cover: uninitialized memory in by-value argument passing, GC root bugs with setjmp in loops and time-traveling longjmps causing use-after-free, missing GC roots and incorrect GC barrier use in memmove, more UB cases in integer arithmetic, GC root issues in fiber (ucontext) support, and an abstract interpretation bug in the compiler's object-free checks.
