DeepSeek's biggest fan says he shilled for free: 'not a mere AGI lab'
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-24
Longtime DeepSeek supporter teortaxesTex says that for a while he was essentially DeepSeek's unofficial "soft promotion" arm on X — with no money involved, which made him only more devoted. Quoting a post speculating that DeepSeek spends nothing on marketing (leaving promotion to anime-avatar superfans and model optimization to developers), he calls it a "uniquely virtuous organization, not a mere AGI lab." Screenshots show his long-running follower-count rivalry with @deepseekai, earning him the nickname "Deepseek Steel Fan" from the team.
