Kimi accused of paying creators to trash-talk Opus and Astra in leak campaign
DeryaTR_ · x · 2026-10-24
Developer DeryaTR publicly called out Moonshot (Kimi) over its creator marketing campaign: participating paid accounts were required to disparage competitors Astra and Opus 5.5, claiming Kimi K3.1 is better and cheaper — but in his own testing via subscriptions, K3.1 is neither better nor cheaper per task than Opus 5.5.
The quoted post (elshayib's "Post 4 Exposing Kimi AI") shows the campaign requirements: participants pick from pre-existing demos to reshare, many likely not actually made with Kimi, and even the real ones weren't one-shot as the paid accounts claim.
The poster warns these sneaky campaigns will cost Kimi massive credibility.
