Alchemy Merges All-in Migration to EffectTS Native SQL Drivers, Dropping Raw pg/mysql2 Deps
samgoodwin89 · x · 2026-10-24
Developer samgoodwin89 merged a PR migrating the Alchemy project fully to EffectTS's native SQL drivers. @effect/sql-pg now speaks the Postgres wire protocol itself (no pg dependency since rc.115), and @effect/sql-mysql2 ships mysql2 as a regular dependency.
Docs, examples, and tests no longer install raw drivers: dependencies are simplified (dropping pg), the Lambda build step's install: ["pg"] is removed, and code that previously drove a raw pg client now uses the SQL.Postgres interface, e.g. connecting through Cloudflare Hyperdrive and running SQL directly.
