Aletheia: an MCP memory server that re-verifies every memory against your code
Consistent-Will-6573 · reddit · 2026-10-24
A developer released Aletheia, a local MCP server for project memory where every memory carries a verifiable anchor into the code (symbol, pattern, path, or file hash), re-checked on every recall:
- [ok]: evidence still holds — memory returns with current line numbers so the agent reads 15 lines instead of a whole file
- [moved]: code relocated unchanged — memory returns its new location
- Evidence that no longer holds gets hidden, so stale facts never reach the context
Benchmarks with headless Claude Code: 15% lower cost on a 233k-line Hugo repo across 14 tasks (22% on same-kind tasks), 9% lower cost on expr in two runs, no meaningful difference on a small clean repo. Small samples, early numbers.
Implementation: single Go binary, no dependencies, no network, no telemetry; memories are plain Markdown files you can diff and review; listed in the official MCP Registry with npx/go install/Homebrew/Scoop install, plus a Claude Code plugin using hooks for automatic recall. [moved] currently supports Go only; TypeScript/JavaScript and Python are next.
