AGCO to pilot Agility Robotics' humanoid Digit at Kansas farm machinery plant in 2027

AGCO plans to test Agility Robotics' humanoid robot Digit at its Hesston, Kansas facility in 2027, starting with sorting/stacking parts and placing totes in storage.
Digit 5 (unveiled September) carries a 22.7 kg payload with a 2.2 m reach, interchangeable grippers, and a new safety architecture for working near people. Its battery runs 90 minutes and recharges in nine (10:1 run-to-charge ratio), potentially enabling 20+ productive hours daily. Agility's Arc platform deploys and manages fleets connected to existing factory systems.
With 2,800 dealers across 140 countries, a successful AGCO pilot could lead to broader deployment — though robot counts, throughput/cost targets, and the exact Digit version remain undisclosed.
