Dagger 1.0 beta launches as third-gen CI built for coding agents

Docker creator Solomon Hykes announces Dagger 1.0 beta: third-generation CI after Jenkins and GitHub Actions, built to match the speed and scale of coding agents.
Core argument:
- 2026's "Great CI bottleneck": agents ship only as fast as CI, and buying bigger machines won't fix a broken platform model
- Today's CI is just shell scripts on servers plus log reading: scaling means over-allocated idle VMs; scripts can't detect changes so artifacts recompute; dev/CI mismatch makes agents "push and pray" and burn tokens; huge unstructured logs give agents no context
- Dagger offers a cacheable, locally reproducible execution model, with a copy-paste prompt for wiring it into your coding agent
Commenter JiliJeanlouis notes legacy CI can't keep up with agent development speed and GitHub Actions costs are exploding — CI is the new bottleneck, and Dagger appears to solve it.
