Dev calls out ChatGPT as Claude's cross-device workflow leaves it behind
sytelus · x · 2026-10-23
Developer sytelus publicly complained that ChatGPT lags behind Claude's multi-device experience: Claude works locally on his desktop while he watches task summaries in real time on his iPhone; permission requests on desktop trigger phone alerts; all chats stay consistent across surfaces with no Chat/Work split, and Projects aren't invisible on mobile.
"Is this too much to ask for? It's been months now," he wrote, addressing OpenAI. The screenshot shows Claude's phone view of desktop task steps like verifying paper details, compiling chapters, and reading figures.
