Free TTS trick: turn ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude read-aloud into text-to-speech sites
Right_Ambition_1035 · reddit · 2026-10-23
A Reddit user found a clever workaround: most popular AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Qwen, etc.) have a built-in read-aloud feature meant for reading responses. By asking the AI to repeat back arbitrary pasted text verbatim, they repurpose these platforms as free, natural-sounding text-to-speech tools — great for audiobooks and more.
They packaged the trick into browser extensions available for free at ai-readers.com, covering multiple providers' voices.
