Hugging Face hosts SF event on training open-weight agents with RL, recording out tomorrow
huggingface · x · 2026-10-23
Hugging Face shared live scenes from its San Francisco Training Agents event, teaching attendees how to train their own open-weight agents. No livestream, but a full recording arrives tomorrow.
The program features 10-minute talks with Q&A plus a closing panel on what works in RL for agents and where bottlenecks are. Speakers include Ben Burtenshaw (Hugging Face), Govind Kamtamneni (Microsoft), Victor Barres (Mercor), Zach Wentz (Reflection), Tao Lin (RadixArk), and Xiangyi Li (Benchflow).
Topics go beyond single-turn RL to multi-step, environment-driven training: reward design, rollouts, benchmarks, and the gap between training gains and real-world agent behavior.
