After TV Time died with 15 years of his data, he moved 10,260 media notes into Obsidian

When TV Time shut down in July 2026, Sebastien Dubois lost 15 years of TV tracking history and decided his media library should never live on someone else's servers again. He rebuilt it in his Obsidian vault: 10,260 plain-Markdown notes — one per movie, show, anime, manga, game or board game — with covers, statuses, ratings, ownership, prices and play dates, versioned in Git and backed up multiple times a day.
The long write-up includes real code from his vault: note types per medium, queries, publishing, and an AI assistant that can answer questions about his library. From these notes he generates a "Year in Media" page — what he watched and finished, hours per medium, ratings by director and decade, and what's next. The system ships with Obsidian Starter Kit v5.1.
