Dev builds ESP32 desk display showing Claude Code and Codex agent status via local Go helper
tonylook · reddit · 2026-10-23
Reddit user tonylook built managents, a setup where a local Go helper detects the internal states of Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode sessions and pushes updates over USB to an ESP32-driven desk display, giving each open agent its own status card. He used Claude Code itself to work out state detection, ESP32 flashing, and to design a 3D-printable enclosure (V2 printed on an Anycubic i3 Mega S, not yet merged). He's asking the community which states matter at a glance — thinking, waiting for input, tool running, error, done — and whether people prefer terminal dashboards, notifications, or a physical display.
