Feature request: bring Claude Code computer use to Linux CLI (X11/Wayland)
Casondoesstuuffz · ghdev · 2026-10-18
A feature request on anthropics/claude-code asking for the built-in computer-use MCP server to work in the Claude Code CLI on Linux (both X11 and Wayland). The docs state CLI computer use is a macOS-only research preview and unavailable on Linux or Windows, and the Linux desktop beta lacks it too, leaving Linux users no way to let Claude Code see the screen or control GUI apps. Use cases cited include testing GUI apps (e.g. whether an AppImage actually opens a window) and desktop automation; today the only options are clunky workarounds like xdotool and screenshot scripts.
