Nigerian teen builds AI smart glasses that let blind people walk without a cane

Khalifa Aminu, a young Nigerian, developed AI smart glasses designed for blind people to walk independently — unlike the consumer smart glasses popular online.
- Onboard sensors, GPS and AI detect obstacles ahead (walls, poles, parked cars, people) and alert the wearer before collision, replacing the cane and a guiding hand.
- If the wearer gets lost, the glasses send their exact location via WhatsApp or email to a caregiver's phone, so family can find them in minutes instead of hours.
