iPhone Duo footage shows noticeable HDR artifacts resembling halation filter
flngr · x · 2026-10-22
User flngr spotted what appear to be HDR artifacts in video shot on the iPhone Duo: orange halos around high-contrast edges like tree trunks and a white dress, visible even in crops. The effect resembles a retro halation filter and suggests the device's tone-mapping struggles at bright edges — a notable knock against its imaging pipeline.
