Audit of 2,979 Gemini launch-week posts: 91.6% of complaints lack evidence

A non-programmer audited 2,979 posts across six Google AI / Antigravity subreddits during the Gemini 4 Argon launch week (Oct 12–18) using the public Arctic Shift API, questioning how representative the negative deluge is:
- Of 2,269 target posts, 949 (41.8%) were complaints; 91.6% (869) contained zero reproducible evidence, with a median length of just 239 characters. Reproducible reports (code blocks, logs, structured comparisons) were only 80 posts (8.4%) but 8.2x longer.
- By phase: launch and the $100 Ultra paywall drove 58.9% of complaints; excluded telecom/student promos and weekly caps followed; complaint volume collapsed after quota doubling, with the zero-repro rate steady around 91%.
- Author profiles: only 2.6% (25/949) of complainers had established engineering footprints (r/programming, r/devops, etc.); 34.2% (325 posts) came from users active in regional telecom bundle discussions — a 13:1 promo-to-engineer ratio.
Conclusion: launch-week negativity was largely low-evidence venting and subsidy disputes, with genuinely actionable engineering feedback a small minority.
