belo ships agentic banking for LATAM via MCP with human approval on every transaction
yenkel · x · 2026-10-22
belo has launched "Agentic Banking" across 12 LATAM countries (AR, BR, MX, CO, CL, and more; US/EU excluded), letting AI agents operate bank accounts through MCP.
V1 exposes 8 MCP services: sign-in, balances, yields, activity, FX, fiat/crypto on-off ramp, card management (issue, use, freeze), and transaction approval. The design principle: "the agent proposes, the human decides"—every action requires human approval, e.g. a $1,840 card payment sits in HUMANAPPROVALREQUIRED even after passing risk checks. Roadmap includes Pix payments, per-agent permission controls, multi-company operation, and proactive alerts.
The author argues banks should build a paved road for agents (WebMCP/MCP) with per-action approval customization rather than blocking them entirely—fully blocking agents will cost banks business.
