Composio launches Agent Firewall, an SLM-powered runtime boundary for agent actions
arankomatsuzaki · x · 2026-10-22
Composio introduced Composio Firewall, a "runtime boundary" for AI agents: while traditional software sets permissions at build time, agents need boundaries set and enforced at runtime.
- The firewall builds on Composio's existing runtime (tools, auth, sandboxed execution used by millions of developers) and checks both directions: actions agents take and information returned to them.
- Actions are evaluated by a model called Jev plus custom SLMs fine-tuned on real-world usage data, and it can block instructions hidden in tool results before the agent reads them.
- The goal is verifying agents respect user intent and developer-set boundaries, addressing agents' trust problem.
