ForTy classifies every 10x10m patch of Earth into five forest types
GoogleDeepMind · x · 2026-10-22
Untouched natural forest stores far more carbon and biodiversity than single-species timber plantations, yet they can look identical from above. ForTy sorts every 10x10m patch of land into primary, naturally regenerating, planted, plantation, and tree-crop/agroforestry classes, with satellite examples and a global map.
