REA: Open-Source Prompt System That Lets AI Agents Reverse-Engineer Any App or Website
blaizedsouza · x · 2026-10-22
Miles Deutscher highlights REA (Reverse Engineer Anything), a free open-source GitHub repo he calls the most powerful he's used — a prompt system that lets AI agents legally reverse-engineer any website, app, or feature.
Per the prompt guide, REA plugs into agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI via MCP, covering 20+ software types (websites, desktop apps, Android apps, native software and games). A five-step workflow (Look → Understand → Plan → Build → Iterate) restricts analysis to software you own or are authorized to examine, tags every finding as CONFIRMED/INFERRED/UNKNOWN, and produces a spec.md build plan plus a four-agent swarm (scout, spec-writer, builder, tester). Setup takes 5 minutes with an agent and Node.js 22.19+.
