LiDAR scan + LLM workflow produces dimensionally accurate 3D room models
OpenAIDevs · x · 2026-10-22
Developer Wes Bos shares what he calls the best way to get 3D modeling results from LLMs:
- Scan a room with a LiDAR-enabled app while capturing hundreds of high-quality photos
- A custom workflow + skill has the model generate 3D assets for every item recursively, cross-checking each model against the photo taken at the exact spot and angle
- The result is a dimensionally accurate, high-quality 3D model of the entire room
Full walkthrough is in his latest video.
