A new SE Visible (SE Ranking) study analyzes how Google's AI Overviews reshape branded search:
- 82.5% of US brand-keyword searches trigger an AI Overview, meaning users often see Google's AI summary before ever reaching your site; Germany shows just 40.4%.
- Brand keywords with under 50,000 US monthly searches trigger AIOs 85.2% of the time, vs 63.3% for the biggest brands.
- AIOs cite the brand's own website only 39% of the time, frequently pulling from pages outside the organic top 10.
- Page-type choices differ starkly: organic search picks the homepage 71.1% and About page 3.8% of the time, while AIOs pick 36.8% and 11.7% respectively.
Takeaway for brands: even branded queries are increasingly answered by AI, making AI-search visibility a new SEO battleground.
