Maziyar Panahi benchmarked NVIDIA's open-source NV-Segment-CT on a single NVIDIA GPU with real timings:
- One click on the aorta: 3.8 s of segmentation
- Heart: 5.3 s
- Everything: 10.3 s, identifying 84 structures across 304 slices—every rib, all 5 lung lobes, the heart
- Plus 7.7 s to build the 3D surfaces
The video shortens the waits and discloses this on screen. The original poster asks radiologists: should every CT scan open in 3D by default—or is it a gimmick?
