A Redditor asked Claude to convert a 12-year-old Kindle with a barely functioning touchscreen into a clock and weather dashboard. Jailbreaking was the hard part requiring manual restarts, but once Claude installed ssh on the device, everything worked smoothly. The project is open-sourced as rekindle — drop the repo link into Claude and it handles the rest.
