The Hugging Face team introduces Carbon-X, billed as the best open DNA model: a 14B model midtrained on both DNA and text that reportedly beats every open language model and matches GPT-6.1 Sol at 1,000x lower cost.
It can answer questions about sequences, explain what mutations do, and generate new DNA.
