HolyArrs: one self-hosted app replaces 8 *arr tools, built entirely with AI coding
CoderLuii · reddit · 2026-10-22
A developer with 10+ years in software and security unveiled HolyArrs, a free, open-source self-hosted app replacing Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Bazarr, Prowlarr, Seerr, SABnzbd and qBittorrent in one Go process (110MB idle RAM), with a Netflix-style UI. Optional AI features (off by default) include natural-language search, your-own-key cloud models or fully local models, and a built-in MCP server so assistants can search and request media. How he built it with AI: the model first studied 36 existing apps and wrote manuals the build must follow; every feature is built against a spec; real apps run side-by-side as a comparison lab; secret scans gate every commit; RAM/CPU measured on every build. Key lesson: AI happily ships features that work but ignores cost — idle RAM crept from 76MB to 110MB until measurement became a gate. Beta testers wanted.
