Amazon blocks Meta's Muse AI agent from shopping on its platform

Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse AI agent from shopping on its behalf of users, citing violations of its Conditions of Use.
- Meta didn't notify Amazon before Muse accessed its store; Amazon raised privacy and security concerns over Muse browsing without identifying itself and apparently capturing customer credentials
- An Amazon spokesperson said third-party purchase agents should operate openly and respect provider decisions
- Meta claimed Muse can't see login or card details, but reports say it can read user message contents
The move opens a broader platform-versus-agent battle in agentic commerce.
