Matt Pocock open-sources software-factory skill for designing your own AI agent factory
mattpocockuk · x · 2026-10-22
Matt Pocock submitted a draft PR adding a software-factory skill to his skills repo, designed to be invoked alongside a /grill-me session to help developers decide whether a software factory fits their needs and brainstorm the required infrastructure.
Rather than a step-by-step flow, the 75-line skill is a generic glossary for designing your own factory on your own infrastructure:
- Runs: trigger, run, runner
- Services: ticket tracker, ticket source, git host, orchestrator, observability platform
- Design method: fill every service slot (all-GitHub / Linear / own tracker combos), then ask 5 questions per run (one per ticket source) until all are answered
It serves as reference material for his Software Factory Part Two course.
