On an RTX 5090, LTX 2.5 renders a 5s video in 32s while Wan2.2 takes 45 minutes
Grombil · reddit · 2026-10-22
Reddit user Grombil benchmarked two video generation models out of the box on an RTX 5090 24GB laptop: for the same 5-second clip, LTX 2.5 took about 0.54 minutes while Wan2.2 took 45 minutes — roughly an 80x gap.
He noticed Wan2.2 only used 14GB of VRAM, spilling the rest into his 32GB system RAM (28GB occupied), and asks why it isn't using more VRAM — the offloading likely explains much of the slowness. Both ran default settings, so tuning may help, but at current speeds he says Wan2.2's nicer output isn't worth the wait.
