Claude Duet leak: proactive agent checks accounts every few hours, ~$0.19 per check at API rates

According to a roundup by @rohanpaulai (unconfirmed by Anthropic), Anthropic has rolled out Claude Duet, a proactive agent application positioned against Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots, starting with a waitlist for US Pro and Max subscribers.
Key details so far:
- Duet checks connected accounts every few hours rather than continuously, since constant checking would burn through Pro/Max limits; background checks draw on the same allowance as regular Claude chats.
- It runs Claude Opus 5.5 on a cloud VM with its own browser, but users can't watch the browser yet — they only see results and approval prompts.
- Cost math: at Opus 5.5's API list price, a hypothetical check reading 40K tokens and writing 1.5K tokens costs about $0.19; six checks a day would run roughly $34/month at API rates, more than Pro's $20 monthly fee.
- Purchases require two separate approvals: Duet confirms the item, then the user confirms.
