Codex Pro 20x user hit server_overloaded errors across 8 models for a month, persists after re-login
yeyitech · ghdev · 2026-10-21
Issue #55789 on openai/codex reports that a ChatGPT Pro 20x subscriber ($200/month) has been intermittently rejected with serveroverloaded for about a month — across 8 different models including gpt-6.1-sol, gpt-6-astra, gpt-reserve, gpt-6-luna and the gpt-5.6 family, at medium/high reasoning effort.
Re-login, cache clearing, and --ignore-user-config don't help; codex-cli 0.163.0 on macOS arm64, with the same failures in the desktop app and non-interactive codex exec runs. codex doctor reports overall warning status, pointing to an account-level server-side routing/rate issue rather than local configuration.
