Algorithmically generated extreme couloirs: how Endless Powder builds testable Chute stages
sterlingcrispin · x · 2026-10-22
sterlingcrispin describes The Chute in Endless Powder, a massive terrain feature inspired by Corbet's Couloir where the mountain steepens dramatically and riders thread between rock faces.
Each Chute stage is unique and algorithmically generated with guaranteed routability: a placement-generation-test pipeline considers the entire run, paths and distances between trickable obstacles. Stages are then algorithmically named after the landform ingredients that compose them.
