Survey: 54% of Workers Avoid Company AI Tools, Waste 8 Hours a Week Fixing AI Mistakes
marigo · x · 2026-10-22
A WalkMe survey of 3,750 executives and employees reveals a workplace backlash against AI:
- 54% of workers avoid their company's in-house AI tools; a third never use AI at all.
- Exec-worker disconnect: 61% of executives trust AI for business-critical decisions vs. only 9% of workers; 88% of execs think their tools are adequate vs. 21% of workers.
- Productivity paradox: while 81% of execs believe AI boosted productivity, workers waste 8 hours per week cleaning up after AI — 51 work days a year, up from 36 days last year.
The piece concludes that offices, like consumers, are proving hostile ground for AI monetization.
