Leaked internal remarks from Yao Shunyu, Tencent's 28-year-old Hunyuan chief leading a 2000-person team: target world's No.1, no tech reports until then, and a strategy of relaxing internally while grinding competitors — "we can't skip overtime like DeepSeek, but we can grind DeepSeek into pulling all-nighters." Quoting Liang Wenfeng's screenshots on DeepSeek's no-overtime, half-unassigned research culture, the poster quips it's the old East Asia story: resentful grindcel versus the blessed ordinary man seriously playing around — "I think I know how this ends."
