Robotics founder defends Voxel: a Unitree G1 wrapper can still be a good investment

After Tuesday Labs unveiled Voxel, its droid butler, benjaminbolte wrote a candid investment thesis defending it. He concedes the company didn't train its own foundation model, likely has no data flywheel, is "a Unitree G1 wrapper," and leans on humanoid hype for attention.
His counterpoint: application-layer wrappers are undervalued this cycle. Harvey and Legora wrap the same foundation models yet became standouts, and the big pre-PMF robotics rounds from "smart money" are in the same boat — worse, in fact, since investors expect those startups to out-train Anthropic. The argument: packaged products with paid engagement can beat foundation-model bets in this hype cycle.
