qwen-code P1 bug: Anthropic global cache_control scope breaks requests with 2+ tools
od28173 · ghdev · 2026-10-21
Qwen Code v0.25.3 (CLI and VS Code extension) fails on the first prompt against Anthropic's API whenever two or more tools are defined, returning 400: cachecontrol.scope: "global" is only valid when every preceding block is also globally scoped. The reporter captured the request body showing the converter sets global scope on the last tool and system[0] but plain ephemeral elsewhere, and reproduced the error by replaying it directly. The 4-breakpoint limit makes full global scoping impractical for normal tool lists, and forceGlobalCacheScope: false is silently ignored. Triaged as P1.
