Anthropic's sub-agent updates may push a user to drop Codex for Claude
StewartalsopIII · x · 2026-10-21
Stewart Alsop III says Anthropic's new sub-agent changes and the general quality of its Opus models make it hard to justify paying for both Claude and Codex subscriptions. He's considering dropping Codex entirely and returning to Anthropic, jokingly framing it as going from "polyamory" (two superintelligences) back to a "monogamous" single-vendor relationship. A small but telling signal of Claude's pull in coding/agent workflows.
