Self-replicating AI, bioweapon research and AI-ported games share one problem: friction is eroding

A Macanorak essay argues that three seemingly unrelated recent developments — self-replicating AI, AI lowering the barrier to bioweapons research, and AI cheaply porting old games to new platforms — share one structural problem: the friction around doing complex, costly, or dangerous things is rapidly eroding.
As the cost and expertise required for complex tasks approach zero, individuals and small groups gain access to capabilities that once required institutions, breaking traditional defense and governance assumptions. The same framework explains why creative explosions (game porting) and risk escalations (biosecurity) are happening simultaneously.
